How we work

A considered
process.

Four stages. Each one ends with something you can hold, read or walk around — never just an invoice.

  1. Listen

    Understand

We begin with the way you live, the qualities of your site, and the possibilities you want to explore.

    Typical duration

    2–4 weeks

    What you get

    • Site and fabric survey
    • Brief, written down
    • Feasibility and budget range

    What we need

Access to the site, any existing drawings, and an honest number.

  2. Explore

    Imagine

Sketches, models and material studies give shape to a shared vision, with room to question and refine.

    Typical duration

    4–8 weeks

    What you get

    • Two or three distinct options
    • Physical models
    • A first material palette

    What we need

Your reactions, including the negative ones. They are the useful ones.

  3. Resolve

    Develop

We bring spaces, structure and surfaces into focus, working through every junction and everyday detail.

    Typical duration

    3–6 months

    What you get

    • Coordinated drawings
    • Junction details
    • Specification and consultant set

    What we need

Decisions held for long enough to draw them.

  4. Build

    Make

Through close collaboration with makers and builders, the design becomes a place ready for life.

    Typical duration

    Through to completion

    What you get

    • Tender support
    • Site inspections
    • A snag list we actually close

    What we need

A contractor willing to talk to us early.

And then

We stay in
touch.

We visit finished projects at one year and at five. Buildings teach you things that drawings cannot, and the only way to learn them is to go back.
